According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there continues to be a lot of talk about Ronda Rousey coming into WWE. She has been training regularly at the Performance Center, and the feeling is that her debuting and winning the first women’s Royal Rumble over as a major annual event more to the mainstream than the stories of Rousey debuting and winning, leading to a championship match at WrestleMania. The Rumble match also provides an opportunity to protect her, because there would be a lot going on and a lot of people in the ring who can carry the action, without Rousey being the main focus for an extended period of time.
Rousey friends and MMA horsewomen members Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir are no longer training for pro wrestling at this time, which means that the Four Horsewoman vs. Four Horsewoman idea for Rousey’s debut has been changed. Shayna Baszler is being pushed as a major debut in NXT.
The site adds that “Rousey has been training for a long enough period of time that she’s got to be a lock for WrestleMania this year,” unless something unforeseen happens or some type of entertainment offer comes up to delay it. With her unbeaten streak and switching to an arm bar finish from the Asuka lock or the head kick, Asuka seems like she’s the one being groomed to work with Rousey, as she’s considered one of the best workers in the company. There is also the idea that Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair, has the most mainstream marquee value
